  • Monday 22 April 2024 Cherry class dental talk Cherry class had a very interesting talk this morning from the School nursing team. We learnt about the importance of cleaning our teeth and eating healthily. We had a good discussion about the importance of not washing our mouth with water after we clean so that we do not wash the fluoride away.

  • Thursday 18 April 2024 Capacity in Willow In Maths this week we have been learning about capacity and volume. We have enjoyed practical, hands on learning using different containers, measuring cylinders and funnels.
  • Friday 12 April 2024 Willow Class Art We have had a wonderful first week back after the Easter holidays and finally managed to get outside to enjoy some outdoor learning in the sunshine. In Art we have been investigating texture and pattern by creating wax rubbings.

  • Wednesday 6 March 2024 Signs of Spring with Cherry Class Today Cherry class learnt about the season of Spring. We learnt that Spring is a time of new growth. We went on a Spring walk, looking for signs of Spring, we then drew some beautiful flower pictures.

  • Monday 19 February 2024 A Caribbean dozen for Willow class Willow class' Geography topic this half term is 'Hot and Cold Places'. We are going to be using the book 'A Caribbean Dozen' in our English lessons. The book celebrates thirteen Caribbean poets and we look forward to sharing our learning with you soon.

  • Thursday 8 February 2024 Willow class Science Willow class used different materials to create their own plants today. We then labelled the parts - roots, stem, leaves, flower, petals and seeds.
  • Wednesday 7 February 2024 Visit from the Police Community Support Officer Cherry class had a fantastic visit today from Gareth Maddox the Police Community Support Officer. We learnt all abut his uniform and equipment and enjoyed looking around the Police vehicle.
  • Monday 5 February 2024 Cherry class safer internet information Today Cherry Class have discussed the importance of staying safe when using the internet. We shared the story of Smartie the penguin and discussed the different ways that Smartie stayed safe whilst using the internet. Here is the link to the story:_

  • Thursday 1 February 2024 Super vegetables Cherry class have really enjoyed the story of 'Supertato' this week. They had lots of fun creating their own super vegetable character and then made it. I wonder what adventures the super vegetables will have??

  • Tuesday 23 January 2024 Robot fun in Willow class This half term Willow class are learning how to programme a robot in computing lessons. We have enjoyed exploring the different buttons and can follow an algorithm to make our robot (Beebot) move. What fun!

  • Thursday 18 January 2024 Willow natural paint Today in Art the children made cave paintings with a twist...the paint was natural paint made from beetroot, raspberries and blueberries! Keep a look out for our paintings coming home soon.
  • Tuesday 16 January 2024 Winter art in Cherry Cherry have been exploring which colours are cold colours and have cut out animal pictures to make an Antarctic landscape
  • Monday 15 January 2024 Fabric faces in Willow This week we finished our DT project 'fabric faces'. The children have had so much fun choosing different materials and items to create their faces. Each of us used a needle and wool to sew a mouth and most of us were able to sew on buttons for eyes. Well done Willow, they look great.

Leavers 2020

This year has been memorable for many reasons but welcoming back all the year 6s for a final celebration of their school life at Luston was definitely the most special. They have now grown their roots and are ready to fly having achieved so much since starting primary school. We all wish them every success in the future at high school and beyond.
