Religious Education at Luston and Shobdon
RE Lead: Penny Moore
We follow the Herefordshire agreed syllabus for our RE lessons.
Within our lessons we introduce children to a range of religions that is built upon from EYFS to the end of Key Stage 2 in a spiral curriculum, building upon knowledge built upon previously. We encourage children to think about what they have learnt about people's beliefs and to reflect upon the similarities and differences to their own lives and beliefs as well as between religions. We encourage children to ask questions to gain a deeper understanding. To help with this visits and visitors form a fundamental part of our lessons.

Hereford Cathedral
Hereford Cathedral
There has been a place of worship on the cathedral site since at least the 8th century, although no part of any building earlier than the 11th-century bishop chapel survives.
The medieval cathedral was not monastic; the governing body, known as the Dean and Chapter, were not monks but secular priests who led active lives in the world. They employed the Vicars Choral, a body of clergy who lived a collegiate life in the Vicars Cloister, to sing the daily services for them. The following chronology reflects significant dates in the development of the building and its community.
