Friends of Shobdon School

Welcome to the Friends of Shobdon School – FOSS

The Friends of Shobdon School (FOSS) aims to raise funds for the benefit of the children and school through organizing enjoyable social events.

Who are we?

We are a group of parents, carers and community members who work together to plan and run fundraising events throughout the school year. We also host fun activities for the children, such as the annual Christmas party and Easter egg hunts.

Why do we need to fundraise?

As school budgets become ever more squeezed, fundraising has become even more essential for funding things such as bus travel for swimming, subsidising school trips, buying books and other classroom equipment, supporting our Forest School and much more.

Every child at Shobdon School benefits from the funds that FOSS raise!

Recent fundraising events have helped to fund:

  • The Christmas Pantomime trip to the Courtyard for all the pupils at the school.
  • Travel costs for all the children to participate in swimming lessons.
  • Additional reading book collections.
  • Outdoor play equipment.

How can I become involved?

Anyone with connections to the school is welcome to come along to meetings or join our emailing list to help come up with ideas and organise events which will raise money for the school. If you would like to add your name to our email list please leave your details at the school office or email at the following address :

Being involved with FOSS is a great way to feel part of the school community and to meet other parents. Even if you can only help at one or two events during the year it can make a real difference!
